About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is hiring a part-time, hourly Cashier/Sales Floor Associate in New Philadelphia, Ohio, at $13.40. The associate handles customer transactions, helps keep the store stocked and presentable, and builds positive relationships with customers and donors. A background check is required. Requirements

• Strength in mathematics.
• Strong people and customer service skills.
• Able to identify shades and tones of color and visually inspect clothing.
• Background check required.

Nice To Haves

• Computer experience preferred.
• Prior retail experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure donor and customer satisfaction.
• Itemize purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash, make change, and implement agency programs such as Round Up and Loyalty.
• Use POS software to enter starting and ending cash amounts and maintain accurate customer records.
• Handle customer disputes, make exchanges according to policy, and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Assist with stock rotation and merchandise racks, shelves, and displays neatly.
• Assist store team leadership with training new personnel.
• Help maintain a clean store, including cleaning shelves, dusting, vacuuming floors, and cleaning windows and mirrors.
• Assist with floor running, apparel rotation, and cleaning dressing rooms as needed.
• Follow agency safety policies and guidelines and work with supervisors and team members to address identified safety concerns.
• Embody DGR (Donated Goods Retail) MODE Guiding Principles.
• End every transaction with “You changed a life today, Thank you!”
• Perform other duties as assigned.
