Retail Sales Floor Associate
About The Position
The Retail Sales Floor Associate supports a consistently positive shopper experience by helping maintain a clean, organized, well-merchandised, and welcoming store environment during assigned shifts. The role provides friendly, efficient service through point-of-sale transactions, sales floor standards, merchandising, and store-readiness tasks, following established processes aligned with Goodwill’s mission of Changing Lives through Education, Training, and Employment. Under the direction of store management, the associate completes assigned tasks and supports sales-floor and front-end operations so the store remains clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Requirements
- Ability to deliver friendly, respectful, and helpful shopper service.
- Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate transactions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required in a retail environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior retail, customer service, or production experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments preferred.
- Prior nonprofit or mission-based retail experience is a plus.
- Experience operating a point-of-sale system or handling cash transactions preferred.
- Bilingual language skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment during assigned shifts.
- Provide a positive shopper experience by greeting, respecting, engaging, assisting, and thanking every shopper.
- Accurately process point-of-sale transactions while providing friendly, efficient service and supporting smooth customer flow.
- Support shop-ready merchandising through timely recovery, basic replenishment, and established presentation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in shopper-facing areas, including registers, aisles, fitting rooms, restrooms, and checkout zones.
- Assist shoppers with questions, product location, fitting rooms, and checkout needs in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Support signage placement, price accuracy, fixture organization, and product presentation; report concerns to store leadership.
- Complete assigned store-readiness tasks, including recovery, merchandising support, and basic housekeeping.
- Support assigned opening and closing routines.
- Assist with basic backroom, production, or operational tasks as directed by store leadership.
- Follow company policies, safety guidelines, and operational procedures.
- Practice safe work behaviors and report hazards, incidents, or concerns to store management.
- Follow cash-handling, pricing-integrity, and loss-prevention procedures.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.
