About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store and surrounding areas clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, and entryways; removing trash and litter; and working indoors and outdoors in varied weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies while assisting the team as needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Must be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate to increase sales.
Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, and entryways.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays so merchandise remains fresh and well presented.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and help wherever needed.
