About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate is a customer-facing store team member who operates the register, provides friendly service, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and organized. The role involves indoor and outdoor cleaning, including restrooms, gas pumps, the parking lot, and store entryways, in all kinds of weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to help the team wherever needed. The position requires weekend and holiday availability and spending most of the shift on one's feet. Candidates must be at least 18, communicate effectively in English, have basic math skills, and meet the stated lifting requirements. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check may be required. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on one's feet for most of the shift and comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
- Flexible and able to handle varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell customers when possible.
- Keep the store’s interior and exterior clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter and trash.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help the team wherever needed.
