About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, handling regulated sales, stocking merchandise, cleaning indoor and outdoor areas, and helping in other departments as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and performing physically demanding cleaning and stocking tasks. The position requires applicants to be at least 21 years old, available to work weekends and holidays, able to communicate effectively in English, and proficient in basic arithmetic. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required. Employment offers are contingent on a background check, and candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on their feet for most of a shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly and positive demeanor, with the ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail.
- Punctual, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible approach to work.
- Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate to increase sales.
- Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from store floors and lot areas.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and other areas.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help the team wherever needed.
