About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while serving customers. The role includes operating the register, making sales, maintaining merchandise displays, and completing substantial cleaning indoors and outdoors, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, adaptability, and willingness to perform a variety of tasks.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Clean and maintain restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and other areas inside and outside the store.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help team members and step in wherever needed.
