About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps maintain a clean, safe, well-stocked store. The role includes cleaning the store interior and exterior—including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot—and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors, standing for most of a shift, and completing physical tasks. Prior retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to work on feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, responsible, and adaptable.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Deep-clean restrooms and clean and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and the general cleanliness and organization of the store.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support teammates and assist wherever needed.
