About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, including the parking lot and pump area. The associate may work indoors and outdoors in all weather, take trash to the dumpster, and remain on their feet for most of a shift. Team members may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Able to work on their feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, personable, and positive demeanor.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
• Flexible and able to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, and taking trash to the dumpster.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and organization.
• Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support the team and assist wherever needed.
