About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate provides customer service and operates the register while helping keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and inviting. The role includes sales of lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements; offering friendly service and upselling when appropriate; cleaning both inside and outside the store; and maintaining merchandise displays. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
• Adaptability and willingness to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe.
• Deep clean high-use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot area.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
