About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, and the parking lot, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, comply with company policies, and help the team wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and adaptable.
Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
Take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team player and assist wherever needed.
