About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, including the parking lot and pump area in all weather conditions. Associates may be asked to cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires weekend and holiday availability, frequent standing, and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, communicate effectively in English, perform basic math, and pass required pre-employment screening. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, responsible, and adaptable.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
- Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter and trash.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep and mop floors, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help the team wherever needed.
