About The Position

As a member of Torchy’s Hospitality Team, the Cashier/Runner helps create a welcoming guest experience by taking orders, running food, and ensuring guests leave happier than when they arrived. The role includes greeting guests, answering questions, making menu recommendations, processing accurate transactions, delivering orders, maintaining clean guest-facing areas, and working with managers and kitchen staff to provide smooth service. Team members should be friendly, attentive, communicative, adaptable, and detail-oriented.

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s and Alcohol Server certifications; certifications must be obtained by the first day or within the timeline required by the location.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand for several hours and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves of varying heights.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of work experience providing customer service in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
• Two years of experience using point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, understand their needs, make suggestions, and process fast and accurate transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Provide outstanding hospitality and help guests feel welcomed and valued.
• Learn the menu and current promotions to make personalized recommendations, including for guests’ preferences and dietary needs.
• Run food to tables promptly and ensure each guest receives the correct order.
• Proactively offer refills on chips and drinks and look for ways to exceed guest expectations.
• Keep guest-facing areas neat, clean, organized, and inviting.
• Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and the Hospitality Team to resolve problems and provide efficient service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
