About The Position

Cottage Health seeks a Cashier I for its Single Billing Office department. The role is responsible for daily posting and reconciliation of insurance correspondence received through on-base, mail, and email. The Cashier I reports discrepancies in correspondence for resolution, recategorizes denial reasons in Health Logic, and posts some cash, checks, and other payments to maximize cash collections. Account resolution includes verifying insurance eligibility and submitting refund requests for insurance and patient payments, including checks and credit cards.

Requirements

• Basic MS Word and Excel skills.
• Keyboarding/typing speed of 35 words per minute.
• 10-key speed of 6,000 or more strokes per hour.
• Basic math skills.
• At least 2 years of experience with cash handling and cash drawer end-of-day balancing, or retail/data entry experience.

Nice To Haves

• Some college coursework.
• EPIC system experience.
• Six months to one year of experience in a medical office setting.
