About The Position
The Cashier I Retail Sales role is at San Lorenzo Lumber & Home Centers in Santa Cruz, California. Under direct supervision, the cashier greets customers, processes payments, and provides general product and store information. The role also supports merchandise pricing, stocking, displays, store presentation, and annual physical inventory activities. The position is on-site and pays $16.90 to $19.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and receive payments.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Package customer purchases.
- Provide product information, product locations, and general store knowledge.
- Direct customers to product pickup points when necessary.
- Open and close out the till and accurately document transactions.
- Make accurate change, verify credit cards and checks, and balance receipts.
- Assist with pricing and stocking inventory.
- Assist with display preparation and maintenance and maintain quality store presentation.
- Participate in annual physical inventory activities.
