About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring an on-call Cashier/Food Service Worker at Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The position operates a point-of-sale system, assists with food preparation and catering orders, prepares coffee, serves customers, and maintains clean, stocked cashier and food service areas. The role includes handling cash accurately, making end-of-shift deposits, monitoring and recording food and refrigerator temperatures, and following food rotation and stocking procedures. The schedule is on call, with days and hours varying. The pay range is $20.00 to $21.00 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until openings are filled.

Requirements

One year of previous related experience is required.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Help prepare foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts, and assist with catering orders.
Perform cashier duties using the point-of-sale system and follow established procedures to maintain cash accuracy and receipts.
Make deposits at the end of each shift.
Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
Provide service in retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
Inventory and restock supplies and food products.
Set up the serving line, take and record food temperatures, and notify cooks when temperatures are outside acceptable limits.
Serve hot and cold items to customers.
Set up items for purchase daily.
Keep refrigerators stocked and rotate products using the first-in, first-out rule.
Stock pantries with correct daily par levels of food items.
Record replenished amounts and daily refrigerator temperatures on floor stock forms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
