About The Position

EMR is a metal recycling company that processes a wide range of recyclable materials. The Cashier and Weighbridge Operator/Floater handles customer payouts and transaction records, weighs incoming and outgoing scrap metal shipments, and supports inventory control and yard communication. The position provides customer service to dealers, vendors, and customers in person and over the phone, and involves work in both office and outdoor settings. The role includes varied daily responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of customer service experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software.
Strong customer service skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Familiarity with scrap metal commodities and transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

Handle customer payouts accurately.
Maintain precise records of cash and check balances.
Weigh incoming and outgoing scrap metal shipments using an automated system.
Communicate with yard personnel regarding load details.
Process inspection tickets for inventory control.
Maintain organized and current transaction-related files.
Enter transaction data into manufacturing software and retrieve information from internal systems.
Maintain and operate the radiation detection system.
Provide customer service to dealers, vendors, and customers in person and over the phone.
Stay current with industry trends and practices.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
