About The Position

Based in Northeast Ohio, AWP Safety is a national safety services provider and a leader in traffic control solutions. The Cash Application Specialist supports the company’s mission by working with the Customer Relations team to reduce delinquent accounts, coordinate payment resolution, and ensure daily cash applications are timely and accurate. The role collaborates across organizational levels to meet departmental and company goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and terminology, and strong math skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail; organized.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Outgoing and assertive personality, and willingness to approach individuals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of experience in cash application, banking, or accounting.
• Experience with Microsoft D365, Microsoft Great Plains, Salesforce, Prelude, American Contractor, Sage 300, or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Apply daily cash accurately and on time.
• Review customer receivables and coordinate payment resolution.
• Communicate with internal and external customers and other units about collection issues.
• Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts to achieve organizational goals.
• Involve management when needed to accelerate the collection process.
• Follow work processes to communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels.
• Establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with customers.
• Perform training as requested.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
