About The Position

The Cash Application Specialist delivers service in support of AWP Safety’s mission to protect businesses, people, and time. Working directly with the Customer Relations team, the Specialist helps reduce delinquent accounts, coordinate payment resolution, and ensure daily cash applications are timely and accurate. The role involves collaborating across all levels to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Strong customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and terminology, and strong math skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail; organized.
Problem-solving skills.
Critical-thinking skills.
Outgoing and assertive personality, and willingness to approach individuals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

1–3 years of experience in cash application, banking, or accounting.
Experience with Microsoft D365, Microsoft Great Plains, Salesforce, Prelude, American Contractor, Sage 300, or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

Apply daily cash timely and accurately.
Review customer receivables and coordinate payment resolution.
Communicate with internal and/or external customers and various units regarding collection issues.
Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts to achieve organizational goals.
Enlist management’s efforts when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
Follow work processes to communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels.
Establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with customers.
Perform training as requested.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
