This is a merit hire position with an hourly rate of $20.20. It is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dauphin County Department of Mental Health, Autism, and Developmental Programs is seeking applications for a full-time, second shift (3 PM-11 PM) Caseworker 2. Existing Crisis Intervention Program Caseworker employees are encouraged to apply based on their current status. Due to departmental needs, staff may be required to work different shifts, including nights and weekends. The Caseworker 2 responds immediately to a wide range of life crisis situations for individuals in Dauphin County within a 24-hour emergency Crisis Intervention program. Responsibilities include using casework skills to gather essential information, providing counseling to consumers and their families, and assisting them in utilizing available resources. The role also involves applying problem-solving techniques, offering counseling to optimize service delivery and achieve service plan goals, monitoring consumer behavior, and collaborating with agencies within the local service network. Work is conducted in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures. The Caseworker 2 demonstrates initiative and judgment in performing their duties. Performance is reviewed by a professional social service or administrative supervisor through regular individual and group conferences, as well as case record and report reviews. The second shift (3 PM-11 PM) includes a potential $.70 shift differential, which is subject to change. Additionally, this position may be eligible for a retention bonus after one (1) full year of employment.
