About The Position

The WEC Detention Facility houses adults who have been adjudicated and are awaiting deportation. The Case Processing Specialist supports detainee court-related case processing and coordinates with immigration agencies on hearings, interviews, and docket management. The role also provides administrative and logistical support, manages records and case data, supports removal or post-removal processes, and oversees the Law Library. Other duties may be assigned to fulfill the facility’s mission.

Requirements

At least one year of post-high-school coursework or experience in administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative or management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, a similar field, or a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.
Applicants accepting a job offer must pass a physical examination or screening and, at a randomly announced time, a drug test.
Must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Training Program at the Staff Training Academy.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with ICE personnel, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for hearings, interviews, and docket management.
Assist with scheduling, preparation, and proceedings of detainee court-related cases.
Assist with facilitating video Immigration Court hearings for detainees.
Assist with facilitating video or telephonic Consular or Asylum meetings.
Perform case processing, docket management, data entry, and records management.
Support removal or post-removal management.
Provide communication, administrative, and logistical support.
Oversee and manage the Law Library.
Perform other duties assigned to fulfill the mission of the facility.
