Cart Technician I

Total Industries•Pacheco, CA

About The Position

This is a union-represented, full-time position affiliated with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO, District Lodge 190. Employees join the union within 30 days of hire. Wages and benefits are established through the collective bargaining agreement. Starting wages are based on relevant skills and experience, with a development plan providing wage increases every six months based on progress until journeyman status; increases after that are typically annual. Union benefits include paid benefits, a retirement pension, access to a 401(k) plan, and 10 paid holidays. At the direction of a Service Advisor, the Cart Technician diagnoses and repairs golf and utility carts, aiming to address the underlying problem rather than its symptoms. The technician identifies additional safety, mechanical, and other repair needs, documents them on work orders, and communicates them to customers to seek approval before performing the work or leaving a job site. The role involves tracking work time to support accurate billing for eight hours each day, coordinating with the Service Advisor to mitigate lost time or overtime, and providing progress updates throughout the day. The position also includes completing and maintaining work orders, conducting post-repair equipment testing and assigned pre-delivery inspections, handling parts and warranty returns, and communicating safety issues to customers and the Service Advisor. Technicians maintain service vehicles or shop bays, keep parts inventory stocked, follow safety and environmental procedures, attend meetings and training, and drive in accordance with company rules. Work takes place indoors and outdoors in fluctuating environments, with travel to customer sites as needed.
