About The Position

As an entry-level team member on Meijer’s Courtesy Team, the Cart Retriever supports a variety of retail tasks and services while providing above-and-beyond customer service. The position includes returning shopping carts from outside the store to the store interior; collecting trash from the parking lot, lawn, and inside the store; safely using snow-removal equipment; handling perishable and salvage returns; and performing basic store and restroom cleaning. The role also works with the service desk, store entrance, checkout lanes, parking lot, and several store departments. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Be highly organized and attentive to detail.
Have strong listening and communication skills.
Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
Coordinate and collect trash from the parking lot, lawn, and inside the store.
Safely use snow-removal equipment to remove snow.
Handle perishable and salvage returns.
Perform basic store and restroom cleaning.
Work with the service desk, store entrance, checkout lanes, and parking lot areas.
Work with Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral departments.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
