About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), is hiring a Carpentry Instructor at the Northern Kentucky Youth Development Center in Crittenden, Kentucky. The position teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program and includes other duties as required. It offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging, student-focused environment and help prepare students for future careers. The position is advertised under KRS Chapter 156 OCTE and is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service. The selected applicant will become a member of the Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System. Applicants and employees may be required to complete a drug screening and background check. Applicants under contract with a local school district must provide a written release from their superintendent before an offer can be extended.

Requirements

Hold a Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught, or a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught, or have four years of appropriate work experience, including two years within the last five years.
Be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area. Applicants may be hired without the required certifications but must acquire them at the next available testing period.
