About The Position

The Carpenter/Painter provides skilled general carpentry, cabinet-making, painting, and wall-covering services that maintain and enhance professional, attractive, and functional spaces throughout the organization. The role supports alterations and new construction, and helps create environments that support healthcare services. Work is typically performed in an office environment. The schedule is 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with 40 scheduled hours per week. The position is accountable for meeting job-specific obligations and following organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
At least 2 years of related work experience.
Valid driver's license.
Communication, computer literacy, mathematics, organizing, teamwork, and independent-working skills.

Responsibilities

Perform general carpentry and cabinet-making in support of alterations and new construction.
Measure and prepare working drawings and estimate material quantities when necessary.
Install drywall, floor, and ceiling systems.
Perform general roof work and masonry tasks when necessary.
Prepare surfaces with joint compound, caulking, and sanding.
Remove hardware and other items, and protect surfaces with masking tape and drop cloths.
Set up scaffolding and ladders for safe use.
Apply paints, stains, and varnishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
Paste, apply, trim, and smooth wall coverings and materials.
Return finished areas to working order.
Clean and maintain equipment and systems as required.
Keep tools and equipment in safe, operable condition and report problems to a supervisor.
Assist with maintenance of signage and directional systems.
Maintain accurate daily records of time and materials.
Serve as a technical resource and team leader to ensure a quality product when necessary.
