About The Position
Employees in this classification work under general supervision and perform a variety of skilled tasks related to building maintenance and construction. Duties include erecting forms, cutting and assembling materials, and performing other related work as required.
Requirements
- Ability to perceive small differences in objects and spatial relationships.
- Ability to attend to visual details.
- Ability to make precise arm and hand movements where strength and speed are minimized.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use power tools commonly used in the carpentry trade.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations associated with construction and renovation tasks.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to make precise manipulations using simple hand tools.
- High school diploma or GED with five years of experience in finish carpentry, or Completion of a carpenter apprenticeship program or vocational school, or An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
