About The Position

Canterbury Woods is seeking an experienced and motivated Finish Carpenter for its Williamsville, New York campus. Canterbury Woods is a continuing care retirement community that provides older adults with a living experience designed to meet their needs and interests, from independent living through a continuum of care.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role involves fabricating and finishing wood and other materials, completing hands-on construction and finishing work, reading blueprints, and maintaining equipment and the work area. Compensation is $28.00–$32.00 per hour, and travel is negligible.

Requirements

• Must have graduated from a trade school or equivalent.
• Must have good time-management skills and the ability to complete tasks without prompting.
• Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of four years of experience as a finish carpenter or cabinet maker is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute and complete required paperwork.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood, composition, and/or plastic sections using shop tools and equipment, including planers, jointers, shapers, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
• Prepare structures for finish applications by planning, shaping, and sanding with hand and power tools.
• Maintain and clean equipment and the work area.
• Perform hands-on work such as framing, drywall, finishing, painting, and work on doors, frames, and hardware.
• Read blueprints and translate them into fabricated products.
