Finish Carpenter
About The Position
Gold Beech Construction is hiring an experienced Finish Carpenter for full-time, year-round work on high-end custom homes, whole-house renovations, and additions in Lexington, Massachusetts, and the surrounding Greater Boston and MetroWest areas. The role combines rough and finish carpentry on complex residential projects, with an emphasis on precise workmanship, tight tolerances, and clean details. The carpenter will work with project managers, teammates, and subcontractors to meet schedules, quality expectations, and site requirements. The position offers a defined path toward Lead Carpenter responsibilities and greater project ownership as the employee grows with the team.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of high-end residential finish carpentry experience, including trim, doors, windows, and custom details.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and construction techniques.
- Ability to read and work from architectural plans and documents.
- Ability to execute work to tight tolerances and high standards while maintaining safety, professionalism, and a clean work area.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and grow with the team.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and meet the demands of the trade.
Responsibilities
- Perform rough construction and finish carpentry on custom homes, whole-house renovations, and additions.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, sketches, section details, and elevations to execute work accurately.
- Fabricate and install framing, trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, and custom millwork to high-end residential standards.
- Coordinate daily with project managers, teammates, and subcontractors to meet schedules, quality expectations, and site requirements.
- Assist with layout, material preparation, and on-site problem solving.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
- Take ownership of key scopes of work and contribute ideas to improve workflows and quality as readiness for increased responsibility is demonstrated.
