About The Position

Quantem Aviation Services is a premier aircraft handling provider offering cargo warehousing, mail handling, ramp handling, terminal services, and GSE fuel supply and maintenance services. The Cargo Agent assists customers during the shipping and handling process by expediting and routing incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments for air transportation. The role involves building and breaking down cargo pallets and freight containers, identifying cargo that does not meet standards or guidelines, obtaining security documents, organizing freight in the warehouse, safely loading and unloading freight, and transporting mail or cargo to the flight line. The work takes place in a warehouse and is physically strenuous. It involves prolonged standing and exposure to noise, potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, and heavy moving equipment. Airport operations may also involve hazards from vehicles, equipment, and weather; these are managed through training, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures.

Requirements

Maintain the confidentiality of all information.
Use tact when dealing with employees at all levels and client representatives.
Be able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
Be able to verbally direct in English.
Hold a valid driver’s license.
Be able to obtain and maintain security clearances required by local and federal regulatory authorities.
Be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, and crawl in awkward positions.
Be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

Build up and break down cargo pallets and freight containers according to guidelines.
Identify cargo that does not meet customer or company standards or guidelines.
Obtain proper security documents for all shipments.
Organize freight in the warehouse according to the base storage plan.
Safely load and unload freight.
Transport mail or cargo to the flight line.
