About The Position
CareOne Senior Care is hiring caregivers to provide one-on-one care to seniors in Southeast Michigan. Caregivers support clients’ independence and quality of life by providing companionship, assistance with daily activities and personal care, support for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s, safe transfers, and transportation related to client needs. The company describes its caregiver team as carefully selected and offers a supportive work environment, consistent hours, scheduling based on availability, training, and opportunities for career advancement. Openings are available in Novi, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Canton, Plymouth, Livonia, Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Rochester, Southfield, and surrounding areas. Standard caregiver positions pay $15.00–$17.00 per hour; certain specialty and couples assignments may pay up to $22.50 per hour. Employees are paid weekly, with optional next-day pay. Caregivers may also receive mileage reimbursement for approved transportation related to client care and access to supplemental insurance and employee discount programs. Applicants must be at least 18, communicate clearly, read and follow care plans, have access to a cell phone, and pass a criminal background check. A current TB test is required and may be completed after the interview. Applicants must have valid identification and reliable transportation, including a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle registration. The work requires bending, kneeling, walking throughout a shift, and safely lifting up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available where possible, while certain physical requirements are necessary for client safety. Virtual and in-person interviews are available; candidates complete orientation before beginning work.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must communicate clearly verbally and in writing and be able to read and follow care plans accurately.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, and walk throughout a shift.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds while assisting clients.
- Must have a Driver’s License or State ID for employment verification.
- Must have access to a cell phone for scheduling and communication.
- Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle registration.
- Must have a current TB test; it can be completed after the interview.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and engaging conversation.
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Support clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and incontinence care.
- Perform safe transfers using gait belts and Hoyer lifts; training is available.
- Provide transportation for errands, medical appointments, and shopping trips.
- Ensure clients’ safety, well-being, and comfort.
