About The Position

Senior Helpers Southern Maryland is hiring compassionate, reliable, and experienced caregivers to provide in-home care to seniors throughout Southern Maryland. Caregivers help clients live safely and comfortably at home and support their independence and quality of life. Assignments are matched to caregivers based on experience, availability, and location. Scheduling opportunities range from 12 to 40 hours per week, depending on availability and client assignments, with day, evening, weekend, overnight, and PRN/fill-in shifts available. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to caregiving.
• Dependable and committed to scheduled shifts.
• Comfortable providing one-on-one care in a client's home.
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, families, and office staff.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
• Negative TB screening.
• Ability to complete required pre-employment health screening and onboarding.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with dementia, Parkinson's disease, personal care, mobility assistance, or other specialized care needs.
• CNA, GNA, or HHA experience is welcome but not required for all assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Provide mobility assistance and safe transfers.
• Prepare meals and provide medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Assist with errands and transportation, when applicable.
• Support clients with daily routines and activities.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition.
