About The Position
Senior Helpers Southern Maryland is hiring compassionate, reliable, and experienced caregivers to provide quality in-home care to seniors throughout Southern Maryland. Caregivers help clients maintain independence and quality of life, with assignments matched to caregiver experience, availability, and location. Scheduling opportunities include day, evening, weekend, overnight, and PRN/fill-in shifts, typically 12–40 hours per week depending on availability and client assignments. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of caregiving experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
- Negative TB screening.
- Ability to complete required pre-employment health screening and onboarding.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach.
- Dependable and committed to scheduled shifts.
- Comfortable providing one-on-one care in a client's home.
- Effective communication with clients, families, and office staff.
- Passion for helping seniors remain safe and independent.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with dementia, Parkinson's disease, personal care, mobility assistance, or other specialized care needs.
- CNA, GNA, or HHA experience is welcome but not required for all assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Provide mobility assistance and safe transfers.
- Prepare meals and provide medication reminders.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
- Assist with errands and transportation when applicable.
- Support clients with daily routines and activities.
- Observe and report changes in client condition.
