About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Corsicana office is seeking compassionate caregivers to serve seniors and others in need in Ennis and surrounding communities. The role offers an opportunity to support clients and their families through companionship and assistance with daily activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility, and transportation. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available to help caregivers develop their skills.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving orientation.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Strong background in home care or elderly care.
History of community involvement.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including attending appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Respond quickly and responsibly to emergencies.
