About The Position
A family in Houston, Texas, is seeking a supportive and compassionate caregiver for an older adult recovering from a recent fall and experiencing severe back and leg pain caused by a compressed disc. The care recipient is non-ambulatory and needs full assistance with bed transfers and daily activities. She alternates between two family homes about 10 miles apart every three weeks, and the caregiver must be able to work at both locations. The schedule is five days per week, up to six hours per day, with flexible hours to be discussed in advance. The caregiver must remain present and provide companionship throughout each shift to support the care recipient’s safety and comfort. This is a private, family-hired position; caregivers are hired directly by the family and are not employed by Wellthy. Candidates are subject to a background check and must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior caregiving and mobility transfers.
- Experience supporting non-ambulatory individuals experiencing severe pain.
- Reliable transportation to travel between two local family home locations in the Houston, Texas area.
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
- Perform safe transfers to and from bed for a non-ambulatory care recipient.
- Assist with mobility and daily positioning.
- Provide personal care, including restroom assistance, bathing, and cleanup.
- Provide feeding support as needed; the care recipient eats mostly independently.
- Remain present and provide oversight to support the care recipient’s safety and comfort.
