About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Midland office provides caregivers to seniors and others in need throughout West Texas and the Permian Basin, including Midland and Odessa. The role is for individuals committed to compassionate care and supporting clients and their families. Caregivers provide companionship and assist with a range of daily needs, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility, and transportation. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available to help caregivers develop their skills.

Requirements

• A passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate disposition.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Physical endurance.

Responsibilities

• Give clients medication reminders.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
