Spanish-Speaking Caregiver – Rowlett, TX
About The Position
Visiting Angels of Plano/Lewisville is seeking a compassionate, dependable Spanish-speaking female caregiver to provide one-on-one in-home care to a female client in the Rowlett area. The client has weakness on one side due to a stroke and needs help with personal care, transfers, medication reminders, meal preparation, and laundry. The caregiver will provide physical care and emotional support while treating the client and her home with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect, encouraging independence, and maintaining comfort and safety. Available shifts are Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Applicants available for all shifts are encouraged to apply; applicants able to consistently cover select shifts may also be considered. The role uses a company smartphone app for care documentation and timekeeping. Starting pay is $17–$18 per hour, depending on the client and assignment.
Requirements
- Spanish-speaking proficiency to communicate effectively with the client.
- At least one year of personal or professional caregiving experience, or an active CNA credential.
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.
- Ability to pass required background checks, driver's license review, and drug screening.
- Dependability, patience, compassion, and commitment to client safety.
- Ability to arrive on time and consistently work assigned shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with personal care, mobility assistance, and transfers is preferred.
- Ability to assist a client with one-sided weakness following a stroke.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential physical and emotional support to the client at home.
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as needed.
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility.
- Provide medication reminders or other permitted medication assistance in accordance with the care plan and applicable requirements.
- Prepare meals and assist with meal-related needs.
- Complete laundry and light housekeeping related to the client's care.
- Encourage independence while maintaining the client's dignity and comfort.
- Communicate changes in the client's condition or care needs to the office.
- Arrive on time and dressed appropriately for each shift.
- Accurately clock in and out using the company mobile app.
