About The Position

Provides in-home personal care services to older adults in accordance with individualized plans of care and Illinois Department on Aging (IDOA) regulations and requirements. The role supports clients’ comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life through personal care, assistance with daily living activities, household tasks, companionship, and other support. The posting seeks Spanish-speaking caregivers in Burhham and Hegewisch.

Requirements

Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
Meet one of the following education or experience options: high school diploma or GED; one year of comparable human service or dependent-care experience; or current GED enrollment with successful coursework progress.
At least 6 months of personal or professional caregiving experience.
Dementia care experience.
Ability to provide full hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
Ability to lift, stand, bend, and assist clients as needed, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care support, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene assistance.
Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and daily living activities.
Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
Perform housekeeping, laundry, and household tasks.
Provide companionship and emotional support to improve clients’ quality of life.
Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and transportation to appointments when applicable.
Promote a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for each client.
