About The Position

Provides in-home personal care services to older adults in accordance with individualized plans of care and Illinois Department on Aging (IDOA) regulations and requirements. The role serves clients in Burhham and Hegewisch and requires Spanish-English bilingual communication and dementia care experience. Caregivers support clients’ quality of life, comfort, dignity, and independence through hands-on care, household assistance, and companionship.

Requirements

Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
Meet one of the following: high school diploma/GED; one year of comparable human service or dependent-care experience; or current GED enrollment with successful coursework progress.
At least 6 months of personal or professional caregiving experience.
Dementia care experience.
Ability to provide full hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
Ability to lift, stand, bend, and assist clients as needed, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene assistance.
Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
Perform housekeeping, laundry, and other household tasks.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and transportation to appointments when applicable.
Promote a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for each client.
Provide services in accordance with individualized plans of care and IDOA regulations and requirements.
