About The Position

The In Home Caregiver provides personal care, homemaking, and companionship services to elderly people and/or adults with developmental disabilities in their homes. The caregiver helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and cared for, and supports their personal goals. The employer provides training for certification, including CPR and First Aid, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, and HIV/AIDS certifications. The organization follows CDC safety measures and equips caregivers with supplies needed to stay safe.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work with male and female clients.
Must pass a Level II background check; the employer can facilitate the check in its office for a stated cost of $90.
Must provide proof of a negative tuberculosis (TB) screening; staff can administer a TB skin test on site.

Responsibilities

Provide care to elderly clients and/or adults with developmental disabilities in their homes.
Assist with bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.
Monitor client safety and provide supervision in the home.
Perform light housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and laundry.
Assist clients with ambulation and transfers.
Help schedule transportation to medical appointments and assist with errands.
Assist with grocery shopping and online shopping.
Prepare meals.
Provide companionship.
Assist clients with their personal goals.
Provide friendly medication reminders.
