About The Position
Family Ties Home Care has an opening for a client in Westlake Village who has advanced dementia and needs daily help. The client lives with her husband and is physically fine but has major cognitive issues. She is very active and social, loves to walk, sing, play games, and do puzzles. This is a very hands-on and active shift, and she can be a fall risk as well.
Requirements
- Current HCA or higher certification
- Caregiving experience of 1 year or similar experience
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow the pre-set care plan and medication schedule
- Ability to lift 35 pounds
- Ability to assist with client's mobility as needed
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work the schedule as described
Responsibilities
- Following a pre-set care plan
- Standard ADLs (personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene assistance)
- Assist with medication reminders
- Monitor and report on client's well-being
- Light housekeeping, laundry, & other household daily chores as needed
- Cooking/meal preparation
- Communication with Family Ties HC management & family members/loved-ones regarding the client's daily status
- Daily notes
- Other duties assigned as needed
