About The Position

Preferred Care at Home of Greater Huntsville is hiring dependable CNAs and experienced caregivers for immediate senior-care assignments in Madison, Huntsville, and surrounding Alabama areas. The position offers flexible scheduling, with full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities. Work is performed in person in clients’ homes and may involve day, evening, or overnight shifts. On-call and holiday availability may be required.

Caregivers provide personal care, mobility and transfer assistance, safety support, companionship, and help with daily living activities. They follow care plans, support clients’ independence and well-being, and monitor for changes in mood or behavior. Interviews can be self-scheduled and conducted by Zoom from home.

Requirements

• At least two years of caregiving experience or CNA certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a background screening.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
• Provide mobility support and assist with transfers.
• Use assistive devices, including gait belts, walkers, wheelchairs, and Hoyer lifts.
• Assist with fall prevention and general safety awareness.
• Reposition bedbound clients to prevent discomfort.
• Provide companionship and daily living assistance.
• Follow care plans and ensure client safety.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Prepare meals.
• Engage clients in hobbies, games, and other activities.
• Monitor clients for changes in mood or behavior.
• Provide conversation and social interaction.
• Remind clients to take medications as scheduled.
