About The Position

Preferred Care at Home of Central Fairfield is seeking an experienced, compassionate Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to clients in their homes. This role serves a bed-bound male client, assisting with personal care and helping enhance his quality of life. Requirements

• At least 2 years of caregiver experience; home care and hospice experience are preferred.
• Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
• Knowledge and experience with caregiver skills and techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, patience, and professionalism when handling stressful situations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bed baths, changing, and dressing.
• Provide medication reminders and help reposition the client to prevent pressure sores.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
• Perform light housekeeping, including laundry and dishes.
• Monitor the client’s health and report changes or concerns to appropriate parties.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Communicate effectively with the client, family, and care team.
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure client safety and well-being.
