About The Position

Preferred Care at Home of Central Fairfield is seeking compassionate and dedicated experienced caregivers in New Milford, Connecticut. The caregiver provides personalized care and support to clients in their homes. This role supports a bed-bound male client with personal care needs and helps enhance his quality of life.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a caregiver; home care and hospice experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
• Solid knowledge of and experience with caregiver skills and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and able to handle stressful situations professionally.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bed baths, changing, and dressing.
• Provide medication reminders and assist with repositioning to help prevent pressure sores.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
• Perform light housekeeping, such as laundry and dishes.
• Monitor clients’ health and report changes or concerns to appropriate parties.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the care team.
• Follow company policies and procedures to support client safety and well-being.
