About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Caregiver to provide one-on-one in-home support for a client in Porter, IN. This opportunity may be a great fit for experienced Caregivers, CNAs, HHAs, PCAs, Home Care Aides, Personal Care Assistants, Direct Care Workers, and Private Duty Caregivers who are looking for consistent part-time hours. Requirements

  • Previous caregiving experience in home care, private duty care, assisted living, senior care, direct care, or a similar setting.
  • 2+ years of caregiving experience preferred.
  • Experience as a CNA, HHA, PCA, Home Care Aide, Personal Care Assistant, or similar caregiving role is welcome.
  • CNA or HHA certification is not required for this position.
  • Hoyer lift experience is strongly preferred.
  • Client-specific training may be provided when appropriate.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to successfully complete a required national background screening.
  • Current TB documentation and CPR certification required.
  • Dependable, professional, compassionate, and able to follow an individualized care plan.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Hoyer lift transfers and mobility needs.
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as needed.
  • Prepare simple meals or lunch.
  • Provide medication reminders.
  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and dishes related to the client’s care.
  • Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction.
  • Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or needs.
  • Use our mobile app to clock in and out and complete required care documentation.
