About The Position

24 Hour Home Care is seeking a compassionate, attentive, and dedicated caregiver to support children, teenagers, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. Caregivers serve clients in Irvine, Corona Del Mar, and nearby Orange County cities, providing assistance according to each client’s care plan and sharing updates as needed. The role calls for someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and respond constructively to changing needs.

Requirements

• Provide contact information for two references who can attest to caregiving experience.
• Provide identification documents that comply with I-9 requirements.
• Provide proof of a negative TB test.
• Be able to commute to work or have plans to relocate before the start date; a reliable commute is preferred.
• Demonstrate initiative and the ability to anticipate client needs and work with minimal supervision.
• Show empathy and compassion when supporting clients.
• Adapt calmly and efficiently to unexpected situations and care-plan adjustments.
• Have strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, toileting, and transfers.
• Prepare meals.
• Provide companionship.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Give medication reminders.
• Follow the client’s care plan and provide updates as needed.
• Run errands and provide transportation as needed.
