About The Position

As a Caregiver serving Brookings and the surrounding area, you provide personalized in-home support to aging adults and their families. You visit clients in their residences to provide practical assistance and companionship, helping clients remain comfortable and independent at home. The role includes support with daily activities, meals, household tasks, errands and transportation, medication reminders, and monitoring changes in clients’ conditions. You follow individualized care plans and contribute to coordinated care that keeps families informed. Training and support are provided, and prior caregiving experience is appreciated but not required.

Requirements

• Compassionate, dependable, and respectful attitude toward older adults.
• Strong communication skills and patience to adapt to each client's pace.
• Physical ability to assist with transfers, mobility, and daily tasks, subject to a 25-pound lifting limit.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for visiting clients in the Brookings area.
• Ability to pass required background screenings.

• Prior Home Health, caregiving, or related experience is appreciated; training is provided for motivated candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Prepare nutritious meals and support healthy eating habits tailored to each client's needs.
• Provide light housekeeping and laundry, and assist with errands or transportation.
• Give medication reminders and monitor changes in clients’ conditions, reporting concerns promptly.
• Provide companionship through conversation, shared activities, and encouragement.
• Follow individualized care plans and contribute to coordinated Home Health support that keeps families informed.
