About The Position

Home Helpers Home Care of Gwinnett is hiring an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Caregiver in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The role involves providing safe, respectful, quality care to a client with left-sided weakness from a stroke that affects her balance, walking, and transfers. The schedule is Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of caregiving experience.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Compassionate and patient, with a genuine desire to help others.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and care plans.
• Must meet applicable background check and hiring requirements.
• Driver's license.
• Social Security card.
• Negative TB test results.
• CPR/First Aid certificate.
• Car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with meal preparation and eating as needed.
• Assist with showering, dressing, toileting, and changing adult undergarments.
• Provide medication reminders according to the care plan.
• Assist with transfers and walking, taking extra precautions because of fall risk.
• Support the client's mobility needs related to left-sided weakness from a stroke affecting balance, ambulation, and transfers.
• Change bed linens and make the bed.
• Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, doing laundry, and emptying trash.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment while treating the client with dignity, patience, and respect.
