About The Position

HomeWell Care Services of NWI is seeking compassionate caregivers to help enhance the lives of seniors and other clients. Caregivers work one-on-one with clients in their homes, providing non-medical assistance that supports aging in place and helps clients maintain their quality of life. The role may be available on a full-time or part-time basis and emphasizes empathy, excellence, and integrity.

Requirements

No healthcare certification is required.
Have daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone.
Pass a national criminal background check and any background checks required by the state.
Provide proof of a current negative tuberculosis (TB) test.
Be physically able to perform the job duties, including lifting, pushing, and pulling approximately 25 pounds.
Have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Be able to travel 15 miles for scheduled shifts.
Have strong communication skills.
Be mature, caring, punctual, and reliable.
Have compassion for older adults.

Nice To Haves

CNA, HHA, or at least six months of experience caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons.
Experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care.

Responsibilities

Provide social companionship.
Assist with daily living tasks, including feeding, medication reminders, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, and cooking or meal preparation.
Transport clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
Provide standby assistance with transfers.
Provide overnight safety assistance.
