About The Position

Visiting Angels of Owensboro is hiring afternoon/evening caregivers to serve clients throughout the local area, including Henderson, Madisonville, and Morganfield. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with customized care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility assistance, and other support at clients’ homes and during errands or appointments. The listed shift is 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.; full-time and part-time options are available. The employer offers advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including background checks.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

• Interest in advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing dietary constraints.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report changes in clients’ health or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
• Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
