About The Position

Preferred Care at Home of Greater Huntsville is hiring dependable CNAs and experienced caregivers for immediate assignments in Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Alabama, and surrounding areas. The role provides in-person senior care, with flexible scheduling and full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities. Applicants can self-schedule a Zoom interview from home. Day, evening, and overnight shifts are available, and on-call and holiday availability may be required. Caregivers assist clients with personal care and daily living, support mobility and transfers, follow care plans, promote client safety, and provide companionship. Duties also include light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and observing changes in clients’ moods or behavior. Full-time employee benefits are offered according to tenure: Vitable Health after 30 days; health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days; and a 401(k) after one year.

Requirements

At least 2 years of caregiving experience or CNA certification.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must pass a background screening.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with bathing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
Provide mobility support and assist with transfers.
Use assistive devices such as gait belts, walkers, wheelchairs, and Hoyer lifts.
Assist with fall prevention and general safety awareness.
Reposition bedbound clients to prevent discomfort.
Offer companionship and daily living assistance.
Follow care plans and ensure client safety.
Perform light housekeeping.
Prepare meals.
Engage clients in hobbies, games, or activities.
Monitor clients for changes in mood or behavior.
Provide conversation and social interaction.
Remind clients to take medications as scheduled.
