About The Position
TheKey is hiring compassionate and dependable caregivers to support seniors at an upscale senior living community in La Jolla, California. Caregivers provide one-to-one assistance to clients in their homes, helping with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. The role includes opportunities for 4–6-hour shifts, including weekend shifts, and welcomes applicants commuting from surrounding San Diego communities. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Pay is $20–$23 per hour, with potential additional pay for qualifying weekend and shorter shifts and possible longevity bonuses.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration, including meeting state background requirements; the employer can help obtain registration after hire.
- Valid driver's license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
- TB clearance or chest X-ray.
- Must comply with state background screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Applicants must meet California fingerprint-identification requirements; a conviction for a non-exemptible crime may result in a conditional offer being rescinded.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
- Perform basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments, run errands, and shop for groceries.
- Provide companionship and social and emotional support through games, puzzles, and other activities.
